Petzl Tikkina Headlamp

Petzl Tikkina Headlamp – $18-$20.50
This little soldier right here has been on many adventures with me.  Camping, Hiking, Skiing, Climbing and Freaking out my neighbours.  This version of the Tikkina is considerably brighter than previous models.  It’s a standard LED light (1), but packs more of a punch than other brands in the same price range.  I usually have the brightest light when I go on trips with friends (most of my fiends are poor dirtbags like me).  There are definitely way better and brighter lights out there, but for the money, this is good!  The only time it’s been insufficient is when I was doing some multi pitch climbing and was on the mountain a lot longer than expected.  It was difficult for my partner and I to see each other.  Max output is 60 lumens.
3 AAA batteries (included!)
No long range mode.  No glow in the dark highlights.

(For the activity’s I do, I should probably upgrade to something like this, that has 4 times as much power and nifty usb charge for batteries.  I don’t always have batteries, but I definitely always have my laptop and GOPRO charger.)

Battery life is between 120-180 hours depending on what setting you’re using.

  • Single LED casts a wide beam that’s best for proximity lighting rather spotting things over distance.
  • 2 brightness settings.
  • Light dims gradually over the burn time rather than suddenly dimming and going dark.
  • Elastic headband is easily removable for washing.
Buy it here at MEC for $20.50
